What Is Parallax Error?

Parallax is the apparent shift in relative position of an object when it is viewed from different positions.  For example, while looking at an object, alternately close one eye and then the other, and the object you're looking at appears to shift back and forth.  When your camera has a separate view finder from the main lens, how you frame your picture will be slightly off from what the camera lens actually sees.  This offset will become greater as the subject gets closer to the camera.
