This is the page to come and get the Year 1999 Wallpapers. Each month, I have been featuring a new 800x600 JPG image, suitable for use as wallpaper, printing, etc. for you to download. Here is a running history of what's been available for downloading, and a chance to catch up on what you've missed. These these images will be offered on upcoming CD's at a resolution of 1075x768. Comments are encouraged and welcomed.

The wallpaper is in JPG high-quality format, at a resolution of 800x600. If you want to use it as wallpaper in Windows, you'll either need to switch on Windows Active Desktop, or simply resave the JPG as a BMP file. Mac users need to follow these procedures:
Macintosh (OS 8.5 and higher)--
1. From the Finder, select menu item: Apple Menu > Control Panels > Appearance.
2. Click on the Desktop tab.
3. If a picture is currently in place, click Remove Picture Click Place Picture.
4. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the image.
5. Click on the file to highlight it, and click Open.
7. Click Set Desktop in the Desktop tab.
8. Close the window.

Fallen Leaves. The textures of floating leaves against a stream bottom
gave that fall feeling.

November 1999 #1 -
Typical Fall Colors. Taken in NE Iowa, this is what awaited those who
ventured out to take what Autumn has for us.

Des Moines River. Taken in central Iowa, this is the Des Moines River
at its lowest level in a long time. When the water recedes, there is
rapid plant growth covering the river bottom.

October 1999 -
Yellow Daisies. This was taken late this summer. I thought the
strong yellow against the contrasting blue sky was a nice effect as
seen from below the flowers. To download oct99.zip:

September 1999 -
Summer Daisies. This was taken earlier this summer. I have many
more flowers that will be on the Heartland Tapestries CD.

August 1999 - Keep
them trains a rollin' One of the many trains that pass through the central
part of Iowa. Located along U.S. 30, and taken about one mile north of
it near LeGrande, this image will make for fine wallpaper on your monitor.

July 1999 - Sunrise
over Iowa. Taken 6-27-99, these were the natural colors of this
sunrise.

June 1999 -
Canadian Geese, photographed at Saylorville Lake in Iowa. I was able
to get within 20 feet of this pair, using a zoom lens got me the rest of the
way. All toll, there were about 8 pair of adults, and each pair had
about six goslings. It was interesting to see the size variance of
each brood, which denoted which hatchings were older than others.
