Monthly Free Wallpaper Images - 2002

This is the page to come and get the current month's and current year's wall papers.. Each month, I have been featuring a new 1024x768 JPG image, suitable for use as wallpaper, printing, etc. for you to download.   Here is a running history of what's been available for downloading, and a chance to catch up on what you've missed.   These  these images will be offered on upcoming CD's at a resolution of 1075x768. Comments are encouraged and welcomed.

The wallpaper is in JPG high-quality format, at a resolution of 1024x768.  If you want to use it as wallpaper in Windows, you'll either need to switch on Windows Active Desktop, or simply resave the JPG as a BMP file.  Mac users need to follow these procedures:

Macintosh (OS 8.5 and higher)--

1. From the Finder, select menu item: Apple Menu > Control Panels > Appearance.
2. Click on the Desktop tab.
3. If a picture is currently in place, click Remove Picture Click Place Picture.
4. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the image.
5. Click on the file to highlight it, and click Open.
7. Click Set Desktop in the Desktop tab.
8. Close the window.

September 2002  Leaf On A Rock -  Digging around my photo shoebox, I found this slide photo I took in 1988.  By itself, I thought it was kind of plain, so I added the mesh filter from the AutoFX Dream Suite 2 filter set.  A bit on the abstract side, but it seems to work very well!

May  2002 The Telegram - This telegram was sent by my dad six days after the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941 to his parents.  I came across this original intact piece of history in a scrapbook of theirs.  It's an unusual departure from my usual photos, but it does make for a pretty cool wallpaper.

April  2002 Flamingo Sunrise - This image is comprised of two photos I took in 1972.  The flamingos are from Parrot Jungle in Florida, and the sunrise is somewhere off the Atlantic coastal side of Florida.

March  2002 Local Store Front.  This is a very, very old shoe repair stor entrance, very weather worn and sun beaten.  I thought it made for an interesting shot before it go repainted!  No, the camera was not tilted, the front of the building was!  I mirrored the door, and copied it to the other side to balance the composition.  You guess which side. ; > )
